Daryl Doran is named to the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame. His 827 professional indoor games played are the most in U.S. history. He scored 419 goals in his indoor career, and coached the St. Louis Ambush to the 1995 NPSL championship. He played for or coached every professional indoor team in St. Louis soccer history: Steamers, player, 1982-88; Storm, player, 1989-92; Ambush, player-coach, 1992-99; second incarnation of the Steamers, player-coach, 2000-05; Illusion, player, 2008-09; and second incarnation of the Ambush, coach, 2013-16. He also played for the Los Angeles Lazers in 1988-89. “What Daryl brought to the table is that he could step on the floor and change the game,” said Jamie Swanner, who played six years as a goalkeeper with Doran and the Ambush. Added Tony Glavin, who played with and coached Doran with the original Steamers: “Of all the players I’ve coached, I could always rely on him. That’s the highest honor anybody can say. . . . The strength and courage he had as a player were immense.”
