St. Louis CITY Soccer Club posted one of the best seasons by an expansion team in any U.S. pro sports league in 2023. The team set numerous Major League Soccer records, sold out every home match, and became the league’s first-ever expansion team to win a regular-season conference championship. Reedy Press author Dave Lange will discuss St. Louis CITY’s record-breaking first season covered in the new book, “Year One: St. Louis CITY SC,” at the Washington, Mo., Public Library. Lange also will look at the storied history of the sport in St. Louis, chronicled in his 2022 book, “Soccer Made in St. Louis: A History of the Game in America’s First Soccer Capital,” also from Reedy Press.
