Meet two iconic figures in St. Louis soccer, Olympic soccer gold medalist Lori Chalupny Lawson and "Mr. Soccer," Bill McDermott, at Hearth & Soul from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 11. Lori and Bill will help author Dave Lange promote his new book, "St. Louis Soccer: An Illustrated Timeline," from Reedy Press. Lori and Bill will discuss Olympic soccer coming to Energizer Park in St. Louis in 2028, as well as Lori's distinguished career in soccer. She helped the USA win Olympic gold in 2008 and the Women's World Cup in 2015. She appeared in 105 games for the USA and is the head coach of the women's soccer team at Maryville University. McDermott is the longest-running soccer broadcaster in the United States. He has covered the Men's World Cup and Major League Soccer for national networks in a career that began in 1970. Bill also played on NCAA championship teams at St. Louis University. Dave's book will be available for purchase, and Lori, Bill and Dave will be happy to sign your copy after the opening presentation.
