Rookie Will Bruin, the runner-up for the Hermann Trophy as college soccer’s top player while a junior at Indiana University in 2010, scores a hat track for the Houston Dynamo against D.C. United as the Dynamo win, 4-1. Fellow St. Louisan Brad Davis assists on Bruin’s second and third goals. The win extends Houston’s unbeaten streak to six and raises the Dynamo’s overall record to 3-1-3. Bruin’s hat trick is the first by a Dynamo rookie. Bruin will go on to score more MLS goals than any other St. Louisan except Taylor Twellman. Bruin will start the 2023 season with Austin FC with 77 career MLS goals.
