St. Louis City2 loses in the MLS NEXT Pro final to the Columbus Crew 2, 4-1. A tense game appears headed to halftime scoreless, but Crew2 go ahead in the 44th minute on a penalty kick goal by Isaiah Parente, then make it 2-0 in first-half stoppage time on a goal by Marco Micaletto. Célio Pompeu nets City2’s goal in the 80th minute when he steals the ball from Columbus goalkeeper and St. Louis native Patrick Schulte. City2 reached the final by defeating North Texas SC, 2-0, in its opening playoff round on Sept. 25 and by defeating the Tacoma Defiance, 2-1, in the semifinal on Oct. 2
