October 25th (1912)

Oct. 25, 1912: A meeting of interested teams and organizers at the St. Louis Municipal Courts Building results in the founding of the Municipal Soccer League. The Muny League, as it will be known, is the first structured amateur soccer league in St. Louis with an executive committee and an appeals process. The league will become wildly successful, at its height drawing more than a million fans per season, and will last until 1957.
